Shiatsu,
Japanese 'finger pressure' therapy, is a natural healing discipline springing
from the same ancient oriental principles as acupuncture.
Shiatsu works by stimulating the body's vital energy flow (known as 'Ki' in Japanese) in order to promote good health and relaxation. The practitioner uses pressure along energy channels known as 'meridians' and stretching of the body to relieve tension and bring the body into balance. Shiatsu allows the receiver to relax deeply and activates their own body's healing abilities. Treatment usually leaves a feeling of calmness and enhanced well-being, of being more in touch with one's body and self. Posture, breathing and circulation will be improved. Treatment is attuned to the individual's health and personal development, (moved from Below)and can be effective treatment for such ailments as:- Back pain
Because of it's benefits to the immune and nervous systems Shiatsu is an excellent preventative treatment, and very useful in stress management. It is also a useful complement to conventional medical treatments for more serious diseases. |
